Caretaker MB disappointed dirty tactics used to smear him

GE14 | Caretaker Perlis menteri besar Azlan Man today expressed his regret at certain quarters who used dirty tactics to attack and tarnish his image as a BN candidate in the 14th general election.

He said that a person should have good facts to reinforce his arguments and not just resort to shouting if others were to accept his ideas.

"Look for weaknesses in the government administration, if there is any, for me to answer. This is professional," he told reporters when attending the People's Touch Sales programme and officiating the Bintong state constituency level KEMAS 4U in Kangar today.

He claimed to be the target of a netizen with malicious intent yesterday who deliberately misinterpreted his statement and accused him of politicking in the mosque, contrary to the decree of the Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail recently.

"I am not a citizen who challenges the sovereignty of the king, in addition to my position as the menteri besar, so don’t use issues like this with the aim of cheap politics and at the same time to tarnish my name,” he said.

Azlan also expressed his regret at some quarters, especially among civil servants who did not look at and study the news first before making conclusions, but continued to make incorrect conclusion giving rise to slander.

Meanwhile, on several incidents involving PKR opposition candidates who were disqualified from contesting in GE14, Azlan asserted that it was their own fault.

"The problem cropped up because the candidate and his advisor were not careful... If they cannot be meticulous during the nomination process, how are they to administer a country?" he asked.

Aslan, who is also the state Umno liaison committee deputy chairperson and BN candidate for the Bintong state seat, said that each candidate should prove that he or she was the best individual to represent the people by showing a sense of sensitivity and not taking light an issue.

"They can’t even manage a small thing well, always blaming others, so people can figure out what their qualities are like, they do not see their own mistakes but often point fingers at people," he said.
