GE14 | Police are investigating a report from an individual who received a letter containing his nude image which has been modified and has a party logo in Selama last night.

Perak Police Fourteenth General Election media relations officer ACP Shaharon Anuar Abdul Latif said the report was received from the individual, in his 40s, around 10pm, after the latter received the letter when he was in the compound of Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (SJK) Tamil Ladang Malaya, Selama.

"The letter also contains his personal details, the modified nude picture of himself as well as the symbol of a party.

"The individual is not a candidate for any party, but we are still investigating this case under Section 509 of the Penal Code," he said in a statement in Ipoh today.

Shaharon said 72 talks were held around the state yesterday, of which 20 were held without permits.

He said from Saturday until yesterday, the police had opened three investigation papers with two arrests made from 10 reports received involving GE cases.

In the statement, Shaharon also reminded candidates who were contesting not to hold talks simultaneously at the same location.

"People are also reminded to control their feelings, do not be too emotional when campaigning to the point of causing provocation and are advised to refer to the police if there is a problem," he said.
