GE14 | PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang has brushed aside allegations that his party shortchanged its Gagasan Sejahtera coalition partner Berjasa.

He also said he has not been acquainted with Berjasa information chief Mohd Junip Huzayin, who made the allegation.

"I don't know the person who made the statement. Berjasa or bersaja (playing the fool). We don't know.

"We gave (our partners) a lot of seats, but our partners did not have enough candidates. We had to use ours," Hadi told reporters in Sungai Buloh, Selangor, today.

According to Sinar Harian, Junip had accused PAS of betraying Berjasa by limiting the party to just five candidates, out of more than 500 seats contested by the coalition.

He said Berjasa had initially sought 17 seats to contest. Berjasa and Parti Ikatan Bangsa are, together with PAS, part of the three-member Gagasan Sejahtera coalition.

Junip added that Berjasa was only allowed to use its own logo in three of such contests while the other two had to use a PAS logo.

"We regret this friendship as it now appears there is an ulterior motive," he was quoted as saying.

To this, Hadi merely said: "That allegation is incorrect".
