Amid Harapan rallies, Rais Yatim issues cryptic message about change
GE14 | Umno’s former minister Rais Yatim has issued a cryptic message about change after sharing several photographs of large rallies held by Pakatan Harapan ahead of the 14th general election.
"Does the wave of tens of thousands of people in Kuantan and Putrajaya signify the level of the people's support towards a struggle?
"It sure does. Umno should not fear; embrace change," he said in a Twitter posting.
In another tweet where he shared more photographs of Harapan's rally, he urged people to be open about change.
"In the current situation and the sea of people that are determining the direction of the nation, is our party still going to sack members who criticise (the party)?
"Be open. Let us bring change," he said in an apparent reference to Umno.
However, Rais Yatim stopped short of overtly endorsing Pakatan Harapan.
Former minister Daim Zainuddin last Tuesday formally joined Harapan's campaign.
Harapan has indicated that another former Umno minister, Rafidah Aziz, will also join in to help Harapan campaign in Malacca tomorrow.
Last night, Mahathir's son Mokhzhani, a tycoon who had previously steered clear of politics, also joined the campaign for Harapan in Kedah.
