GE14 | Amanah should not point the finger at BN over an expose involving its president Mohamad Sabu, said BN strategic communication department deputy director Eric See-To.

“It was (alleged( Amanah members who exposed this - not BN. BN was nowhere to be seen for this,” he added in a statement.

He was responding to Amanah deputy president Salahuddin Ayub claiming the expose was "fake news" from BN.

“The one who exposed are (alleged) Amanah members. The one who got exposed is the Amanah president. But BN is blamed?

“I can assure you that many in BN are also fond of watching Mat Sabu's (Mohamad Sabu) ceramah as it is humorous and entertaining - although short on facts and truth,” he added.

See-To said the expose could be the result of internal sabotage or a power struggle within Amanah.

In view of this, the BN strategist said it would be better for Mohamad to lodge a police report on the matter.

“Let the police investigate. Do not cry or claim it is fake news and then blame BN. Do not slander BN.

“Go deal with your own party's internal problems and don't try to shift the blame to anyone else,” he added.

Earlier today, Malaysiakini reported that Mohamad would initiate legal action against the person who accused him of being involved in a sex scandal.

Yesterdam Rizal Bakar, who claimed to be a member of the Kuala Kedah Amanah division, and two others produced screenshots of a WhatsApp conversation and two audio recordings of a telephone conversation which implicated Mohamad in the alleged scandal.

Amanah is also planning to take legal action against Rizal for allegedly impersonating as an Amanah member.
