GE14 | Bersih has urged Malaysians to wear or display yellow colour ahead of the May 9 general election as a sign of protest against alleged electoral fraud.

"We call on Malaysians to take action - to wear yellow T-shirts and to tie a yellow ribbon on May 7 and 8 as a show of protest against unfair, unjust and unclean elections," Bersih executive director Yap Swee Seng told a press conference in Petaling Jaya today.

Yap said the protest action can also be done through social media, such as changing one's profile picture, to yellow.

"That is the call from Bersih to Malaysians to show your disapproval towards all these election fraud and manipulation," he said.

Yap said Malaysians' right to decide the government should not be sullied by electoral fraud.

"Malaysians have a right to chose the government, political parties and candidates we want to form the new government.

"This right should not be deprived by all these electoral fraud and manipulation," he said.

Earlier, Bersih unveiled its preliminary findings, claiming that the Election Commission's conduct had not been "clean, free and fair".
