GE14 | Amanah vice-president Husam Musa, who was previously speculated as Pakatan Harapan's menteri besar candidate, has hinted that Nik Omar Nik Abdul Aziz will take his place as the new candidate if the coalition captures Kelantan.

Speaking as a ceramah in Kota Bharu today, Husam contrasted Nik Omar with PAS' incumbent state menteri besar Nik Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah.

"Who do you want to choose this time? Nik Omar or Nik Amar?" he asked those present as they responded shouting "Nik Omar".

Husam also indicated that he will instead become involved in the federal government if Harapan captures Putrajaya.

"Where will my place be then? I will hold Malaysia," he said.

Husam is contesting at two seats, in the parliamentary constituency of Kota Bharu and the state seat of Salor, where he is the incumbent.

Nik Omar is contesting in Chempaka, which was his late father Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat's seat.

Harapan had been struggling against PAS and BN in Kelantan but Nik Omar's decision to join Harapan at the 11th hour has energised the coalition.

Nik Omar's charisma has often been compared to his father's, who was highly revered in Kelantan.

PAS had deployed its machinery against Nik Omar, including recruiting his mother to campaign against him.
