GE14 | The Bursa Malaysia fell 13.63 points to 1,828.2 points at closing today as investors stayed on the sidelines ahead of the 14th general election.

However, bucking the trend was Opcom Holdings Berhad, which has Mokhzani Mahathir as chairperson and CEO.

At closing, Opcom was among the top five gainers in terms of percentage, rising 11.2 percent to RM0.445.

Mokhzani's 92-year-old father Dr Mahathir Mohamad is leading the opposition coalition Pakatan Harapan against BN and PAS in the May 9 general election.

The uncertainty has led many investors to steer clear of the stock market until after the general election.

Most other stocks, including blue chips, closed lower.

Nestle declined 0.52 percent to RM135.10, British American Tobacco fell 2.35 percent to RM22.46, Dutch Lady dropped 0.69 percent to RM66.5 while Petronas Dagangan declined 1.49 percent to RM26.4.
