GE14 | PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim has called for a peaceful transition of power if Pakatan Harapan wins in the 14th general election tomorrow.
"God willing, if Pakatan Harapan wins, then give Harapan chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad, president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and the Harapan leadership the confidence to manage the situation properly.
"The transition of power must be peaceful and in accordance with the law. We are determined to carry out our duty and galvanise the strength of the Malaysian people," he said in a statement today.
Anwar also urged vigilance in the electoral process.
"I would like to urge the people to ensure the electoral process goes on in a peaceful and orderly manner.
"The people are asked to observe the electoral process to ensure that it is conducted in a fair and just manner. All those on duty asked to be sensitive and diligent.
“The vote counting process must be closely overseen, and any tension should be avoided," he said.
Anwar, who is serving a prison term, is presently recuperating at the Cheras rehabilitation hospital after undergoing surgery.
