GE14 | Pakatan Harapan candidate Nik Omar Nik Abdul Aziz has lost in the Chempaka state seat in Kelantan.

The second child of the late PAS spiritual leader Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat garnered only 2,418 votes, way behind the other two contenders.

Incumbent assemblyperson Ahmad Fathan Mahmood of PAS retained the seat with 10,549 votes, while BN candidate Mohd Fareez Nor Amran garnered 7,075 votes.

This saw Ahmad Fathan winning the seat by a majority of 3,474 votes, with 232 spoilt votes.

PAS also defended the Panchor state seat with incumbent Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah, winning by a vote count of 13,248 votes.

His two opponents, BN's Zarina Eusope and Harapan's Hazmi Hassan, got 6,309 and 2,349 votes, respectively.

Husam loses in Kota Bahru

Meanwhile, Kelantan Harapan chairperson Husam Musa lost in the Kota Bahru parliamentary seat, to its incumbent Takiyuddin Hassan.

Official results show that Takiyuddin got 28,291 votes, ahead of Husam's 22,422 votes.

The BN contender for the seat, Fikhram Hamshi Mohd Fatmi, garnered 16,256 votes, while some 689 spoilt votes were recorded.

This means that Takiyuddin, who is also PAS secretary-general, emerged the victor with a majority of 5,896 votes.  

Husam's fate in his state seat of Salor has yet to be known.
