GE14 | Pakatan Harapan in Perak will meet the sultan to seek advice on whether it can form the state government, with the 29 state seats it has won in the 14th general election.

State Harapan chief Ahmad Faizal Azumu told a press conference today that he hoped a smooth transition of power from BN can happen.

"Our efforts to save the country has succeeded, and we have secured the rakyat's mandate.

"The 29 (seats) is the highest number of seats, and we will work towards getting consent from the Perak sultan on whether we can form the state government.  

"I hope a smooth transition of power can happen soon to preserve harmony in Perak," he said.

PKR gained 29 state seats, while BN and PAS obtained 27 and three seats respectively.

This means that no party has the majority to form the government, resulting in a hung state assembly.

Asked about PAS being the 'kingmaker' in this scenario, Faizal said Harapan only wants to think and talk about what is happening currently, and handle other issues later.
