MIC will consider its options if there is no effective change in BN, says party president Dr S Subramaniam.

"Today we (MIC) are still part of BN... we feel that BN needs to change to face current challenges, and we will see if the changes happen, (and) if we can become relevant to political challenges.

"If not, we will find other options," Subramaniam was quoted as saying by Bernama.

He was met by reporters after attending the BN supreme council meeting at the Menara Onn in Kuala Lumpur tonight.

MCA president Liow Tiong Lai, meanwhile, said those in BN must stick together.

"BN is still solid... those in BN, we must go through it together," he said.

Liow also said that all BN component parties will be conducting a post-mortem to rectify their weaknesses.

MIC was left with two parliamentary seats, while MCA only retained one seat after last week's general election.

Neither Liow nor Subramaniam managed to defend their respective seats.
