Bursa Malaysia opened higher today supported by buying interest as investors' confidence continued to recover after the recent general election results.

At 9.16am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was up 3.05 points at 1,853.47 from Monday's close of 1,850.42.

The index opened 6.80 points higher at 1,857.22.

On the broader market, gainers led losers 302 to 193, while 203 counters were unchanged, 1,171 untraded and 19 others suspended.

Volume stood at 473.47 million units valued at RM368 million.
