New Pahang MB wants good ties with Harapan-led Putrajaya

Cementing good ties with the federal government is among the top priorities of newly appointed Pahang Menteri Besar Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.

Wan Rosdy, 60, said many matters needed to be discussed following the changes that took place after the 14th general election.

"Focus will be given to win back the hearts and restore the confidence of the people to the BN," the Jelai assemblyman told reporters here today.

Wan Rosdy was met after he took the oath of office well as the inauguration and swearing-in ceremony of the state executive council members before the regent of Pahang, Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, at Istana Abu Bakar today.

Also present were Tengku Puan of Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, and Tengku Muda of Pahang Tengku Abdul Rahman.

On the appointment of the eight state executive councillors today, Wan Rosdy said their portfolios would be decided soon.

Wan Rosdy, who officially starts his duties tomorrow, also thanked the previous menteri besar, Adnan Yaakob for his contribution and guidance.

“I also express my gratitude to the Pahang sultan and regent for their trust and I will execute the responsibility and trust given as best as possible,” he added.
