New Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow today revealed his new state executive council line-up comprising 11 state executive councillors including himself.
New Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow today revealed his new state executive council line-up comprising 11 state executive councillors including himself.
They were sworn-in at Penang Governor Abdul Rahman Abbas's official residence at Dewan Sri Pinang this morning.
PKR managed to clinch three posts as it had in the previous term with Pinang Tunggal assemblyperson Zakiyuddin Abdul Rahman as exco for Islamic affairs, industrial development and community relations.
Two-term Seberang Jaya assemblyperson Dr Afif Bahardin retains his exco post for agriculture, agro-based industries, rural development and health while Batu Maung's Abdul Halim Hussein is now the domestic and international trade, consumers affairs and entrepreneurial development exco.
Amanah and Bersatu assemblypersons did not get any Penang state exco posts.
The rest of the exco line-up comprises DAP assemblypersons as below:
- Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow (Padang Kota) – exco for land matters and development, transport and information;
- Deputy Chief Minister II P Ramasamy (Perai) - state economic planning, education, human development, science, technology and innovation;
- Chong Eng (Padang Lalang) – women and family development, gender and religions other than Islam;
- Jagdeep Singh Deo (Dato Keramat) - local government, housing, town and country planning;
- Phee Boon Poh (Sungai Puyu) - welfare, caring society and environment;
- Zairil Khir Johari (Tanjung Bungah) - public works, utility and flood mitigation;
- Yeoh Soon Hin (Paya Terubong) - tourism, heritage, culture and arts development;
- Soon Lip Chee (Bagan Dalam) - youth and sports.
