Four days after being sworn in as the new Johor menteri besar, Osman Sapian has made headlines twice for the wrong reasons.

This has led former information minister Zainuddin Maidin to paint a bleak picture of Pakatan Harapan's future in the state.

Zainuddin, who is better known as Zam, said Johor Harapan chairperson Muhyiddin Yassin made a mistake in appointing Osman.

He warned that Harapan would collapse fast in the state if Muhyiddin does not correct his mistake with immediate effect.

“The new MP is not dynamic and will not fix the huge mistakes which caused Umno's downfall in Johor,” he tweeted.

Earlier today, Muhyiddin had cautioned Osman to be careful following the latter's decision to appoint an alleged Umno member as his private secretary.

The appointment of former Kota Tinggi district council president Fizwan Rashidi led to Harapan supporters questioning the new administration's commitment to integrity.

In a text message to Malaysiakini, Fizwan confirmed his appointment, but did not address the question if he was still an Umno member.

Prior to this, Osman, who was sworn in on May 12, courted flak when he said the Bersatu-led state government would not provide allocation for opposition assemblypersons.

Following this, Muhyiddin had instructed Osman to rescind the decision.

"I have asked him to correct it. In my view, the general election has concluded and the people have made their decision.

"As a government who cares and understands the people's problems, the Harapan government must consider the interest of all people regardless of political ideology,” he had said.
