Police have urged netizens to stop spreading a police report purportedly over items confiscated from the Taman Duta house of former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak.

"Please do not viral (sic)," Bukit Aman commercial crime investigation department director Amar Singh told Malaysiakini in a text message.

However, he did not confirm nor deny the authenticity of the report.

"We will give a full PC (press conference) once ready. Thank you," he said.

The alleged report, dated May 17, states that the police confiscated some 60 items, including jewellery, cash, foreign currencies and branded handbags during their operation at a Jalan Langgak Duta residence.

It stated that the operation, which was purportedly being conducted under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 (Amla), involved 33 police officers.

Although neither Najib nor his family members were named in the report, the address of the house on the alleged report matches that of his residence.

Last night, Amar Singh said 72 bags of cash and jewellery, as well as 284 boxes of high-end designer handbags, were confiscated from two condominium units linked to Najib in the upmarket Pavilion Residences in Kuala Lumpur.
