1,900 village development and security committee (JKKKP) members are currently in limbo and face the sack as the federal government has decided to abolish the system.

Kedah Menteri Besar Mukhriz Mahathir said his administration is looking into policy changes at the JKKKPs to improve the delivery of services to the people "without any more political interference."
