Pahang Regent Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah granted PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim an audience at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur today.

According to Istana Abdulaziz media officer Abdul Rahim Othman, the one-hour closed-door meeting started at 10.45am and included Pahang PKR chairperson Fauzi Abdul Rahman.

"The meeting was a courtesy visit by Anwar in conjunction with Ramadan, and Tengku Abdullah has known him since he was deputy prime minister before,” he told Bernama when contacted.

Last Tuesday, Anwar was granted an audience with the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Almarhum Sultan Iskandar at Istana Pasir Pelangi, Johor Bahru, after he was released from prison on May 16 following a full pardon from Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V.

Last Friday, Anwar and his wife, Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail were granted an audience by Kelantan Regent, Tengku Muhammad Faiz Petra at Istana Mahkota, Kota Bharu.

Fauzi said Anwar met the sultans as a mark of appreciation for the royal pardon granted him.
