Khalid Samad's defamation suit against Iksim CEO goes for trial

Malaysia Islamic Strategic Research Institute (Iksim) CEO Mahamad Naser Disa today failed to strike out a defamation suit filed by Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad over the allegation that the lawmaker prevented the tabling of the amendment to the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965, otherwise known as Act 355.

This came after judicial commissioner Rohani Ismail of the High Court in Kuala Lumpur ruled that there are triable issues to be heard by the court...
