Yoursay: A cowardly red shirts chief on the run

YOURSAY | Jamal, do come out of hiding and surrender yourself to the police.

'Victimised' and fearing arrest, Jamal seeks refuge in oil palm estate

Rojak: Red shirts leader Jamal Mohd Yunos may be melodramatic and cowardly but I don't think he is stupid.

So perhaps he would be able to explain to the rest of us exactly how, when the old government gave him every opportunity to "be with the people and grow our democracy", he tried to stop the authorities endlessly arresting, releasing and re-arresting certain people for apparently political or vindictive reasons.

And could he also tell us (by video from an oil palm estate if necessary) whether he feels he would have less reason to fear such abuse now if he had made more of an effort to criticise it when he had the chance.

CQ MUARku: Jamal, after you've absconded despite being under police custody, you're now trying to justify your usual stupid gimmicks. This is not the first time that you behaved and acted like a criminal and a gangster, intimidating others.

You've been misbehaving in this way for years, threatening and bullying innocent people, along with your group of ill-bred gangs.

According to your claim that you're neither a criminal nor a terrorist, you are in actual fact a big bully, acting like a terrorist as though there's no law.

You deserve to be severely punished in order to teach you not to take the law into your own hand.

Allegedly carrying a gun in public is a serious offence. No way can you escape punishment. As such, the police must act according to the law.

Proarte: The police have recordings of his threatening, violent and terroristic behaviour. Jamal was a hired Umno thug who was protected by the authorities under then PM Najib Razak.

Well, the long arm of the law is finally closing in on him and he has absolutely no defence. He is a proven liar, indeed his 'no show' at the police station confirms this.

Hopeful123: Jamal may claim that he is not a terrorist but his words and actions in the past only confirm that he is one.

Look at the video on the beer bottle breaking issue. What is he doing? Is he not trying to instil fear among the people? Who gave him the right to conduct such mischief in public?

Jamal is not an exemption under the law and he has to face the full brunt of it. Enough of the bullying and intimidating. Arrest and charge him.

ToGodtheglory: His giving the police the run around is not surprising; saying he would present himself to the police but doing an about-turn underlines his cowardice.

Kevin: The police should waste no time apprehending this "public figure". After all the foul-mouthed, violent gestures the past years, he still dares to claim he's not a criminal.

He has offended so many non-Malays but because he had a good friend in BN, no serious action was taken. If he could run away for five days, he certainly isn't afraid because he should know that doing so would just make it worse for him.

He is giving the police the run-around, making them look like fools. Let's hope that Jamal is caught soon and brought to justice; anyone assisting him to escape should also face the consequences.

Oxymoronictendencies: He said he "fears" arrest and he has jumped bail. I don't think that’s a "fear". It’s a reality. It’s going to happen and hiding on a palm oil plantation is just delaying the inevitable.

He may not be a terrorist or a criminal (although it’s pretty likely that he has broken the law - hence he probably is a criminal in every sense of the word), however he is undoubtedly a thug.

I’m sure they have a nice cell all warmed up for him in Sungai Buloh. Good luck, Jamal. And thanks for some much-needed light entertainment while the police track you down.

JhoLock: This man should be arrested for disrespecting the police and the law, he cannot decide on his own whether he is guilty or not.

This reflects the mentality, lack of civility and values of this man whom BN used to champion. I am glad he did all this so that his fans and supporters can see how cowardly and dumb he is.

Roar For Truth: Jamal, do come out of hiding and surrender yourself to the police. Under this new government, I believe your civil rights will be protected.

Some of your alleged crimes will not fall under "hukuman berat" and can be served concurrently. It may be a few weeks or months, but you will come out a better person.

There is still a future ahead for you. Don't make it worse for yourself and your family. Let bygones be bygones.

Grab the opportunity to live in a better Malaysia and be a better Malaysian. Salam.

Muhyiddin rejects Jamal's plea for 'protection'

6th Generation Immigrant: Protection? Victimised? Mistreated? Surely Jamal is kidding if he is not really sick in the head.

Who was providing the protection when the rakyat, mainly PKR, DAP and Chinese Malaysians, were being mistreated and victimised by Jamal and his antics?

Nine charges pending or outstanding today despite the cries of the rakyat to rein in Jamal?

If only the authorities had executed their tasks fairly some three years ago, Jamal could have been domesticated by now.

Tax-Payer: Jamal has to answer and take responsibility for his many misdeeds under the BN regime. What goes around comes around. The rule of law must apply for his bigotry.

Roger 5201: Home Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, can you get the police to get their act together and act with more urgency.

That Jamal, who was under police custody, was able to walk out of the hospital and allegedly into another country before the warrant was out, speaks volumes of your boys in blue.

We do not need more Jho Lows orbiting our country.
