Police have removed two boxes from a house in Precinct 10, Putrajaya, believed to be in connection with the 1MDB case. 

A senior police source said the raid was conducted under Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001. 

Earlier, three police cars, two unmarked cars, and a white pest control van were seen in the  compound at 1.30pm.

The team spent an hour inside the house before loading two boxes into the van and leaving the premises.

The house, which is believed to have been unoccupied for over a year, is located along Jalan P10C – just 200m away from Seri Perdana, the official prime minister's residence. 

It also bore the insignia of the Property and Land Management Division of the Prime Minister's Department.

A stack of boxes could be seen in the living room of the house, which a media portal reported to be the "safe house" of former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak.

According to a neighbour, the last occupant of this house was Shukry Mohd Salleh, Najib's former principal private secretary.

Probes into alleged wrongdoings involving 1MDB have intensified since Pakatan Harapan took over Putrajaya. 

Last month, police also seized RM114 million in cash of various currencies at Najib-linked condominium units in Pavilion Residences, Kuala Lumpur.
