The Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) has vowed to fully cooperate with the authorities amid allegations of corruption in the agency.

"HRDF takes all the allegations made seriously and pledge their full cooperation to the Human Resources Ministry and relevant authorities.

"It assures employers who are contributing levies that their funds are secure, and that they can continue to utilise their contribution for the up-skilling, re-skilling and multi-skilling of their employees, apprentices and trainees," it said in a statement today.

An MACC report alleging that RM300 million was misappropriated from the fund was lodged yesterday.

HRDF is a government agency which manages training funds for human resource development.

Meanwhile, a former HRDF director denied that his own training firm had received any monies from the fund.

Federation of Malaysian Training Providers and TVET Associations (FMTA) president RA Thiagaraja said the association had not received any funds or allocations from HRDF.

He also dismissed allegations of a conflict of interest regarding his appointment as a director.

"There are other training providers from various associations who are also part of the board.

“Therefore, we believe that this is a personal attack since he (Thiagaraja) was singled out in the allegations," FMTA said in a statement.

Thiagaraja said he would take appropriate legal action against those behind such personal attacks.
