Bukit Bintang Bersatu Youth chief Mohd Noorhisyam Abd Karim wants authorities to investigate those who accused him of misusing his political connections to secure rights to Ramadan bazaar lots and rent them out for exorbitant prices.
Noorhisyam lodged a police report to that effect at the Dang Wangi police headquarters around 1.30pm today.
“I am making this report to reject and deny these accusations which were made viral, and also to enable the authorities to investigate these claims made by certain parties, including the media.
“This is so that my name is cleared, along with Bersatu and also Bukit Bintang MP Fong Kui Lun’s name,” he said in the report sighted by Malaysiakini.
Noorhisyam also said that he was willing to cooperate with the police, MACC and Kuala Lumpur City Hall in their investigation.
The division Bersatu secretary Abdul Razak Zabir and information chief Azrul Feisal Abdullah also filed their own reports to clear accusations about their involvement in the Ramadan bazaar lot rentals.
'Up to MACC, cops to determine wrongdoing'
Previously, Bersatu Youth had requested authorities to investigate the matter.
Its chief Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman also lodged a report with the MACC this evening.

Speaking to journalists after lodging the report at the commission's headquarters in Putrajaya, Syed Saddiq said it was Noorhisyam's right to lodge a report to defend himself, but that it would be up to the MACC and police to decide if there is any wrongdoing.
"We want the police and MACC to investigate the matter in detail as soon as possible, as they have the expertise to do so," he said.
He added that if wrongdoing was established, action should not only come from within the party, but also the law.
"I would also like to thank the media for exposing this, without which the case would not have come to light," he said.
Fong, who had issued a letter of support to Noorhisyam to secure DBKL’s approval to organise the bazaar, told Malaysiakini he would be lodging a police report of his own on June 20, as he is currently overseas.
Noorhisyam is accused of renting out 80 Ramadan bazaar lots along Jalan Masjid India, Kuala Lumpur for as high as RM5,000 per lot – making up to RM400,000 in the process.
DBKL had charged him just RM6,238 for all 80 lots.
Noorhisyam has denied scalping traders or collecting more than the cost as payment.
The local council said it initially did not want to issue the bazaar lots along Jalan Masjid India due to congestion, but had only done so because of Fong’s letter of support.
Fong said he had issued the letter of support after he was told no payment would be collected, and that it was to help traders who could not get licenses to participate in the bazaar.
