MCA has urged Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng to leave no stone unturned with regard to exposing corruption cases.

According to the party's publicity spokesperson Ti Lian Ker, this includes corruption cases linked to Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Council of Eminent Persons chairperson Daim Zainuddin and Pakatan Harapan chairperson Anwar Ibrahim.

Both Daim and Anwar had served as finance ministers during Mahathir's first tenure as prime minister.

Ti said while MCA welcomed Lim's move to expose all incidents of corruption and mismanagement, it also urged the newly appointed minister to be fair and impartial.

“In carrying out his duties effectively and without taking sides, it would only be fair to ask that he exposes all incidents of wrongdoings - from the past and present.

“If these leaders have nothing to hide, then this should not be an issue at all. Like mentioned earlier, someone in the past had allowed corruption to make its way into the administration and this has since grown to become a monster,” he added in a statement this afternoon.

Ti also noted how during Lim's previous tenure as Penang chief minister and Economic Affairs Minister Azmin Ali's close to four-year stint as Selangor menteri besar, the pair were also implicated in certain cases.

“Apart from these allegations surrounding Mahathir and his cabinet ministers at that time, Lim and Azmin also have their share of skeletons in their closets.

“To come clean, we urge them to clear their names in relation to the alleged Splash scandal involving RM2.7 billion, the Ijok land scandal worth RM1.18 billion, the major Penang undersea tunnel project for a whopping RM6.3 billion and the RM19 million allegedly paid to settle certain related matters.

“There are also numerous questioned left unanswered pertaining to the Penang Transport Master Plan worth RM46 billion and the RM30 billion Darul Ehsan Investment Group (DEIG) scandal.

“The amounts involved in all these scandals run into the billions and those related must come clean and prove to the rakyat they have nothing to hide,” he added.

Ti said the people have placed to much hope in the Pakatan Harapan government and it is only right for them to know their leaders are clean and have no hidden secrets.

“In view of this, we humbly urge Lim and all others related to do their part and clear up all scandals linked to them and come clean in the eyes of the rakyat,” he added.
