Bikini ban: T'ganu to review existing regulations first

The state government will not be hasty in implementing regulations in Terengganu, said Human Development, Dakwah and Information Committee chairperson Mohd Nor Hamzah (above).

He said in line with its concept of caring, the state government will look at existing regulations formulated by the previous government and retain the good before changing or improving them, and not reject everything outright.

“So for now, we will retain the existing regulations. We just started running the state a month ago. We will not be hasty.

“The Terengganu government will address existing problems in stages, we will practise tolerance and harmony through dialogues, discussions, and of course adhere to Islam,” Mohd Nor said in a statement yesterday.

He was commenting on a news report published by Free Malaysia Today entitled 'Exco: The Terengganu PAS government does not ban tourists from wearing bikini' today.
