Acting Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has instructed the party to resume channelling funds to its divisions around the country.
After the May 9 polls defeat, Umno had cut funding to the 191 divisions citing financial constraints.
At a closed-door Hari Raya event organised by Federal Territories Umno, Zahid also promised that he would continue funding the party's divisions and wings if he is elected president in the June 30 party polls.
"Insya Allah, if I am elected president, I will continue to ask the secretary-general to allocate funds for divisions and wings," he said.
Despite media personnel being asked to leave during Zahid's speech, he could be heard from outside the room.
On May 22, Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor wrote to all division chiefs notifying them of the funding cut.
"It must be informed that the headquarters has studied the party's financial position and would like to inform that the funding to division and wings, has to cease, beginning May 2018,” the letter read.
