Forty-seven days after capturing Putrajaya, the Pakatan Harapan government is still without a full cabinet.

Quizzed on this, Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said the list has been finalised and the swearing-in ceremony would take place soon.

However, he did not provide a definite timeline.

“The names have been finalised. We will soon have the swearing-in ceremony,” he told a press conference in Petaling Jaya this evening.

Pressed further on when the names would be announced, Mahathir said this would be revealed when the swearing-in ceremony takes place.

Last week, Malaysiakini reported that Mahathir had submitted an additional 15 names to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V.

At present, there are 13 cabinet ministers. 

Previously, Mahathir had quipped that the full list of cabinet ministers will be announced by Hari Raya.

It was also reported that the list will consist of 28 ministers.

Mahathir earlier dismissed criticism over the delays in announcing the complete cabinet list.

He denied there was any internal conflict over the cabinet appointments.
