Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said her husband Anwar Ibrahim’s medical procedure for a prolapsed disc that he suffered went well.

“My husband had a special procedure. Alhamdullilah, it went well and he is resting now.

“The doctors are happy, and he has to stop having visitors for a while,” Wan Azizah said at a press conference today.

This was after she officiated the 32nd meeting of the Asean Committee on Disaster Management and related meetings at the Royale Chulan Hotel in Kuala Lumpur this morning.

She also apologised for her late arrival, as she had to take care of her husband, who is the PKR de facto leader.

Anwar was rushed from his home in Segambut to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre in an ambulance on Saturday night, after suffering a severe prolapsed disc.

He had reportedly complained of pains in his back and shoulder, after returning from a recent trip to Turkey, and is said to be in a stable condition now.
