Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) Perak will be submitting to the state government the list of candidates for Malay village heads this week, said its vice-president Muhaimin Sulam (above).

He said the shortlisted candidates had gone through an orientation process organised by the Amanah Perak Village Heads Selection Committee.

"The process was held to ensure that the candidates from Amanah are ready to serve the community and the state government," he said in a statement today.

He said Amanah Perak has left it to the state government’s discretion to appoint the names that had been submitted.

He said 843 Malay village heads in Perak were expected to be appointed in early July to implement village activities and carry out administrative duties.

Muhaimin said among Perak Pakatan Harapan (PH) manifestos was that emphasis be given on social justice and democracy.

As such he said the process of selecting the village heads by Amanah Perak was part of the goals in the democratisation of the government.
