Zeti to work closely with PNB, while functioning as CEP member

Newly-appointed Permodalan Nasional Bhd Group (PNB) chairperson Zeti Akhtar Aziz is looking forward to her new role and ensuring the sustainability of the country's largest government-linked fund manager.

Zeti will also continue to function as a member of the Council of Eminent Persons (CEP), which was set up to advise the government on economic and financial matters.

"I will continue playing my role in the CEP. It is almost 50 days now (since the new government took over), but there is still a lot of work to be done (as a CEP member)," she said upon leaving Menara Ilham after attending a CEP meeting in Kuala Lumpur today.

PNB had announced last Friday that the former Bank Negara governor would replace Abdul Wahid Omar following his retirement effective June 30. Zeti also said that she will be attending her first meeting with PNB this afternoon.

When asked on Abdul Wahid’s strategic roadmap to improve the government-linked investment company’s operations, Zeti said she was unable to comment until she has been briefed on the details.
