An RM400 million suit has added to former Sabah chief minister Musa Aman woes amid his absence from the country.

According to a legal notice published in Sabah-based Daily Express, an individual by the name of "Zulkifli Kassim" is claiming RM400 million from Musa at an interest of eight percent per year.

The notice said Musa must appear at the Registry of Court in Kota Kinabalu within 10 days from the notice which was published on Wednesday, failing which a judgment may be taken against him.

Musa had left the country in late May amid police seeking to record his statement.

Musa in a statement on June 26 denied that he was a fugitive, stating that he was seeking medical treatment in the UK.

Police had sought for him for alleged criminal intimidation of the Sabah Governor Juhar Mahiruddin.

After the May 9 general election, Musa was on May 12 sworn in as Sabah chief minister before Juhar after forming the government with a razor-thin majority.

However, Musa's government collapsed within a day following defections from Upko.

Warisan president Shafie Apdal was later sworn in as Sabah chief minister but Musa refused to resign, insisting that he was still in charge.

He subsequently disappeared and emerged in the UK amid police looking for him for the alleged criminal intimidation against Juhar.
