Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad revealed that he, too, had wanted to visit China, but its president is only expected to be available next month.

On another matter, Mahathir said he aims to put sovereign wealth fund Khanazah Nasional back on track to help the bumiputera community.

Najib sues 1MDB investigators

Former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak filed a suit against the heads of three agencies leading the 1MDB investigation against him – MACC chief Mohd Shukri Abdull, police commercial crimes head Amar Singh and attorney-general Tommy Thomas.

Zakir Naik back in the spotlight

Mahathir said controversial preacher Zakir Naik – due to his permanent residency – will not be deported unless he creates trouble.

Penang Deputy Chief Minister II P Ramasamy, however, said the federal government must honour its extradition agreement with India where Zakir is wanted.

Former minister Rais Yatim said the attorney-general Tommy Thomas should speak in the national language.

PKR's Latheefa Koya pointed out that PAS had previously engaged Thomas but is now complaining about his command of the national language.
