Police reminded supporters to behave themselves and to comply with rules and regulations during the FA Cup final match between Selangor and Pahang at Bukit Jalil Stadium today.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Mazlan Lazim said the police would not stop supporters from showing support for their respective teams but they should not create any provocation.

“If they want to sing, chant, beat the drums ... police will not stop them, but don’t create provocation that can cause anger to both teams’ supporters.

“They (supporters) are also prohibited from using firecrackers and flares, both inside and outside the stadium and stern action will be taken against those who violate the rules,” he said at a special press conference at the Kuala Lumpur Contingent Police Headquarters here today.

He said the police have also met the Selangor team's supporters today to discuss measures to ensure security during the match.

He also advised the supporters to come early and to use public transportation to reduce traffic congestion.

A total of 1,486 police officers and personnel will be stationed in strategic locations outside and within the Bukit Jalil Stadium for the FA Cup final match between Selangor and Pahang, he said.
