Seremban MP Anthony Loke has been appointed DAP parliamentary leader in the upcoming Dewan Rakyat sitting.

This was announced by party veteran Lim Kit Siang today, who previously held the post.

“The DAP central executive committee has decided that the parliamentary leader in the 14th Parliament will be national organising secretary Anthony Loke,” the Iskandar Puteri MP said in a statement today.

Loke, the transport minister, is seen as a potential candidate for party secretary-general.

The Dewan Rakyat convenes next Monday, July 16.

It will mark Lim’s first time as a backbencher in the Dewan Rakyat since he was elected Bandar Melaka MP in 1969.
