Pakatan Harapan today withdrew its legal challenge against the Registrar of Societies (ROS) over the latter’s refusal to register the coalition prior to the 14th general election (GE14).

Harapan's lawyer Michelle Ng said the application had been withdrawn, with the judge of the High Court in Kuala Lumpur, Justice Nordin Hassan, recording the withdrawal.

Ng said that no order had been made as to costs.

Senior federal counsel Mazlifah Ayob appeared for the ROS.

ROS had not responded to Harapan’s application to register as a coalition in July last year, despite letters sent to the registrar.

As a result, Harapan’s four component parties - PKR, DAP, Bersatu and Amanah - contested in GE14 under the PKR logo.

The coalition was subsequently registered by the ROS on May 16, a week after it won the election.
