Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail (above) said he will explain the issue of the price of goods raised by former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak at the Dewan Rakyat sitting next week.

"I would like to tell him (Najib) that there are several factors which contribute to price decreases, therefore I would like to ask him, who is also Pekan MP, to attend the Parliament sitting next week for a debate session.

"The cabinet ministers and I will provide him with reasonable answers," he told reporters after visiting entrepreneurs who received assistance from the ministry here today.

He said this when asked to comment on the statement by Najib through his Facebook posting yesterday that the prices of goods did not appear to have gone down after the Goods and Services Tax (GST) was zero-rated effective from June 1.
