Surprised Bung withstood wind of change, Kok hopes he'll behave

Bung Moktar Radin needs no introduction. The Kinabatangan MP is known for his politically incorrect and sexist remarks.

During previous parliament sittings, the 59-year-old Sabah politician has never failed to incur the wrath of the then opposition women lawmakers, such as DAP's Teresa Kok.

Last November, the Umno man had women lawmakers up in arms when he added a naked twist to the debate over hotel staff wearing headscarves at the front desk.

He had argued that a “beautiful woman” would still look attractive in a headscarf.

“Even if she is not pretty, if she is naked (telanjang), who wouldn’t want (her)?” he added.

Bung's antics had also courted international attention when he had tweeted "WELL DONE..BRAVO...LONG LIVE HITLER" after Germany's 7–1 win over Brazil in the semi-final of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

While Bung might have escaped unscathed for his past actions, this morning however he found himself in an unfamiliar role after taking oath as an opposition MP in the 14th Dewan Rakyat sitting.

In view of the new circumstances, DAP's Kok hoped that Bung would learn to behave.

“I am surprised that the wind of change in GE14 in Sabah has not blown Bung away from Parliament.

“Today, he (was) sworn in as an opposition MP. Hopefully, he will behave this time,” she said on Twitter.

Kok also posted a photograph of her and fellow DAP lawmaker Yeo Bee Yin posing with Bung, who was elected as Kinabatangan MP for the fifth term.
