Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad today tried his hands on a bullet train simulator today as part of his working visit in Japan.

"At the JR Kyushu training facility yesterday, I tried out the Shinkansen (bullet train) driver's simulator.

"It was very precise and able to simulate changes in weather (rain, snow) and day and night," wrote Mahathir on Twitter.

The simulator was operated by Kyushu Railway Company, which is also known as JR Kyushu.

Dr Mahathir is in Japan on a four-day working visit to Fukuoka and Oita beginning Monday.

He also delivered a keynote address at the Japan Future Leaders School in Fukuoka on Tuesday.

Japan is among the countries that are eying the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High-Speed Rail (HSR) project, which is currently on hold.
