A religious teacher today claimed trial at the High Court in Kuala Lumpur for possession of Islamic State related pictures and videos.

Muhamad Naseefullah Heawian Einie, 47, is being charged with possessing six such photographs and 16 videos in his smartphone, at the arrival hall of KLIA 2 at about 3:22pm on Dec 1, last year.

The charge falls under Section 130JB(1) (a) of the Penal Code that allots a maximum jail sentence of seven years if convicted.

His plea was recorded before Justice Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali.

DPP Mohd Izhanudin Alias appeared for the prosecution while lawyer Zaini Bakar appeared for the teacher.

Justice Nazlan then fixed Sept 25 for case management.

Muhammad Naseefullah is a religious teacher based in Kuching, Sarawak, and is said to be in the Whatsapp group, "The Rise Of Jundullah", which was previously linked to the Better Beer Festival last year.
