The former aide of deputy home minister who was caught upskirting a woman at an optical shop using a handphone was detained at Solaris Dutamas, Sri Hartamas in Kuala Lumpur today.
Sentul district police chief R Munusamy said the 47-year-old man was arrested at 1pm today to facilitate investigations under Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act for insulting behaviour and Section 509 of the Penal Code for insulting the modesty of a person.
“The suspect is being detained for investigation first,” he said when contacted today.
Yesterday, Deputy Home Minister Mohd Azis Jamman was reported to have sacked an aide for his insulting behaviour at an optical shop.
Azis was reported to have said that he decided to fire the officer with immediate effect because his actions had damaged his image and credibility as deputy home minister.
A video recording of more than one minute on the aide making an underskirt video recording of the optician went viral on the social media.
