MUKTAMAR | Umno Youth chief Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki appeared at the PAS Youth wing's muktamar in Kuala Terengganu, today.

Asyraf was seen arriving at the venue of the programme, with an escort, about 3pm, to a warm welcome by the PAS Youth delegation.

He was present as a special guest at the event, which will be officiated by PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, later this evening.

Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had recently said that he, and the party's entire top leadership, will attend the muktamar.

This following the close cooperation between Umno and PAS in the three by-elections that took place after the 14th general election.

Zahid himself is expected to attend the official opening of PAS' 64th muktamar (annual general assembly) this coming Saturday.

In announcing his attendance last week, the Umno chief had accused the Pakatan Harapan government of undermining Malay interests as enshrined in the Federal Constitution.

"Respect our race if you want us to respect your race. The government can change but the principles in the Federal Constitution cannot change.

"The Malay rulers must be respected, Malay privileges must be respected, Bahasa Malaysia as the national language must be respected and Islam as the religion of the federation cannot be questioned," he had said.
