Effective Jan 1 next year, the Penang government will enforce the compound action against occupants of landed properties who do not separate their waste into recyclable and non-recyclable types.
State housing, local government, town and rural development committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo told a media conference in George Town yesterday that a compound of RM250 would be imposed on errant occupants.
The move, he said, was in line with the state government’s aspiration to make Penang a clean, green and safe state.
