Yoursay: Ally with Umno and prepare to face the rakyat’s wrath

YOURSAY | ‘Will Anwar unequivocally shoot down the Pakatan M’sia proposal?’

It's a psy-war game to split Harapan, MP says of Umno-PAS-PKR alliance claim

Benar123: Never work with Umno again, not even in any future. New Malaysia must start all over again, from scratch, without any remnants of the name Umno.

Sixty-one years of history has proven that Umno brought Malaysia to the brink of destruction. If you want Malaysia to be strong, great and advanced, forget about the party totally. Take that as if it is no more in existence.

It will die a natural death without the gravy train and power. Within one year, more than half of its three million or so members will leave. Most will join Bersatu, PKR or Amanah. Scrutinise them. Weed out, charge and jail the bad ones. Everybody is equal under the law.

Working with Umno again will weaken Malaysia to the point of no return. In this world, Malaysia is the country that China likes the most and wants the most to control, due to its strategic location between the South China Sea and Indian Ocean, big land and small population, relatively large Chinese population, and abundant natural resources.

If Malaysia is strong, China can do nothing about it. The only way to make Malaysia strong is to rebuild it from fresh, absolutely without Umno. Once Malaysia is weak, it will be enslaved by China.

Pakatan Harapan, is this what you want? Forget about your personal interests, and work towards a new and strong Malaysia. Any tinge of association with Umno will bring disaster, and inch us nearer to entrapment by a foreign country, as evidenced by recent history.

The Fog of Life: If we reverse this post 14th general election golden opportunity and even remotely contemplate a ruling government that includes Umno, we are doomed.

The old ways and vices will return and we will sink into the abyss. We needed an unequivocal statement from PKR leadership rejecting this coalition suggestion as fantasy. Regrettably, we failed to get one.

Constitutional Supremacy: Bayan Baru MP Sim Tze Tsin has no authority to comment on Umno vice-president Mohamed Khaled Nordin’s proposal for a ‘Pakatan Malaysia’ comprising Umno, MCA, MIC, PAS, Gabungan Parti Sarawak, Gabungan Bersatu Sabah and PKR.

It is PKR president-elect Anwar Ibrahim who must come out and explain in no uncertain terms that the proposal is not acceptable and refute Khaled openly.

Teh Tarik: Spot on, Sim. Don't fall for the trap. Umno is a master of deceit, half-truths and lies. Umno has over 60 years of mastering and perfecting this craft.

All Harapan supporters should remain calm. Umno is in a mess and will use every tool in its bag to recapture Putrajaya.

Unspin: You cannot fault Umno for trying to take advantage of the crack or disunity in PKR. After GE14, things could not be better for PKR with plum cabinet positions, such as deputy prime minister, economic affairs minister, foreign minister, domestic trade minister, housing and local government minister and a prime minister-in-waiting to boot.

But no, greed for power and selfishness have taken over. Some have already forgotten that they were elected by the people to serve the people, but they are only interested in serving themselves.

PKR can learn from DAP in the sense that regardless of personal agendas, DAP always has the bigger picture in mind - which is to rescue our country Malaysia.

Case in point, many thought that Damansara MP Tony Pua, being Environment Minister Yeo Bee Yin's senior, deserved a cabinet position. But do you see Pua jumping up and down throwing a tantrum?

Instead, he is quite happy to assist Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng to fix the mess caused by 61 years of unadulterated corruption and mismanagement by BN - without taking any salary.

Compare that with the amateurish fellow – who wasn’t even elected – crying “bulldozing” when he did not get his way. Grow up, PKR. Don’t give the initiative back to Umno due to your own stupidity.

Anonymous 2475521497239348: If PKR leaders Anwar and Mohamed Azmin Ali et al dare join hands with Umno, the retribution unleashed from the rakyat will bury their political careers forever.

Without any solid denial of this proposal, I hope the voters in Port Dickson will not vote for Anwar to teach him a lesson.

How dare he even remotely hint that future ties with Umno are even possible? Stop this unworthy man from becoming future prime minister. He does not deserve it.

Being Different: Let us see whether Anwar’s family members come out and say that PKR will not leave DAP and other parties for the sake of Umno and PAS.

If they do not say anything openly, then it confirms that they have been discreetly talking to PAS and Umno. The people must know the truth.

Any doubts will eventually split the coalition further. Do not take things for granted. People are wiser now seeing the dirty games played by politicians using the people to win an election and then changing strategies.

Anonyxyz: The main problem is PKR. With so much infighting, it creates an environment rich for plots and counterplots. Together with so many other non-political opinions, the stage is set for political uncertainty.

This diverts the nation from solving its financial and economic disasters and deter foreign investors. This will be a test of the public’s patience.

No wonder, Umno is confident this Harapan government will not last the five-year term. It looks like we could only be proud to be Malaysians for 100 days.

Umno veep envisions new coalition with BN, PAS and PKR

Frank: I didn't even want to complete reading the above report for fear of throwing up all over the place.

But Khaled, here is my response: dream on. On paper, you appear to have the numbers and whatnot – but do you think thinking Malaysians want to see the continuing plundering of Malaysia's resources in the name of ‘bangsa’ dan ‘agama’ when the truth is it is all for ‘tembolok’ (crop) and ‘perut’ (stomach) – and even the one below the ‘perut’ – as proven for six decades already?

Wake up, for the Malaysia today is no longer the country you and your gang used to run. And by the way, I think it is time the authorities go back to investigating his activities while he was Johor menteri besar.

Annonymous: After 61 years of Umno rule and total dominance, it is proven beyond doubt that a BN-like coalition of race-based parties is an epic failure when the leadership criteria is strictly and solely based on race and religion, but not competency and meritocracy.

For 61 long years, while other third world countries had progressed by leaps and bounds, Malaysia under the racist and corrupt regime has slid further backwards, the worthless ringgit has plunged, the people are divided, every vital institution is helmed by self-serving cronies.

Only the stupid would form a coalition with the same racist party to be dominated by Umno and be a slave to the supremacists in power that will only destroy the country and push the poor Malays further backwards.

Lipdah: We’ll take the “amateurish cabinet” over the one filled with skeletons, thank you.
