Education Ministries of M'sia, S'pore to boost bilateral cooperation

The Education Ministries of Malaysia and Singapore will continue to foster bilateral co-operation for the benefit of both nations, especially in the field of education.

Singapore Ministry of Education permanent secretary Chai Lai Fung said both sides had been enjoying wonderful cooperation and programmes all this while.

"We are going to build on that... nothing very specific, and as we develop on the talks it is likely we are going to see more exchanges and building on the wonderful cooperation that we already have," she said.

Chai was asked on the specific issues that she would raise at the bilateral meeting between the ministries of Malaysia and Singapore in Kuching today.

She added that there had been a lot of exchanges and cooperation between the two sides, including their annual bilateral games.

Earlier, Chai and Education Ministry Malaysia secretary-general Mohd Gazali Abas jointly officiated the 14th 2018 Malaysia-Singapore MOE Games which is being held from Sept 21-23.

Meanwhile, Gazali said the meeting today would discuss various bilateral issues of interest.

He said the Education Ministries of Malaysia and Singapore had been enjoying close and good bilateral co-operation, but there was still room for further cooperation for mutual benefit.

More than 400 participants are participating in various sports during the two-day games.
