PKR POLLS | Anwar Ibrahim said he was issuing a warning when he raised the issue of projects being offered in exchange for votes in the PKR election.

The PKR president-elect said this when asked how many candidates were involved in making such offers.

"It was more of a reminder and warning, as certain people have conveyed their views to me.

"My responsibility is to remind those who have positions not to canvass for votes in exchange for 'considerations'," he told journalists in Kuala Lumpur today.

During a visit to Sabah on Sunday, Anwar said he would not compromise on any party contenders offering projects to win support in the party election.

"'If you support me, here, you get projects' – if I come to know about this, watch out. (Incumbent PKR president) Wan Azizah Wan Ismail may be nicer, but when I take over (as president), I'll lesing (beat) you," he said.

Anwar won the position of PKR president uncontested. However, there is stiff competition for all other party positions.

The party election, which commenced last Saturday, is expected to conclude by Oct 28.
