Gobind Singh makes it into Malaysia Book Of Records

The Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) has acknowledged the Minister of Communications and Multimedia Gobind Singh Deo as the First Sikh Minister in the country.

The matter was announced by MBOR chief executive officer Michael Tio during the MBOR Live! programme on Facebook yesterday.

The certificate of acknowledgement for Gobind Singh as the First Sikh Minister had been presented to the minister at his office on Sept 3.

In response, Gobind Singh said the acknowledgement proved that Malaysia is a unique country, which provides opportunity to everyone from all walks of life to shine.

“It’s not just about the acknowledgement given to me. The MBOR has indeed done a very good job and should be supported.

“Through the MBOR, we can see the records of all excellent achievements and success stories created by the Malaysian people, with some even create a world record,” he told reporters in Kuala Lumpur.

Earlier, Gobind Singh launched the MBOR Live! programme and presented the certificate of acknowledgement from MBOR to several recipients, including four-year-old Hansel Chan Ji Jun for being the Youngest Drummer with Lion Dance, to Fipper for the Most Multi-Coloured Slippers Produced and to Proton Edar for Most People in an MPV, with 55 people in the Proton Exora.

It is expected that over 40 new MBOR records would be created throughout the three-day MBOR Live! programme which began today.
