UMNO AGM | Umno Youth chief Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki today poked fun at Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng in a broadside against the Pakatan Harapan government.

One of his jabs was aimed at Lim's alleged inability to take criticism, and the minister's shifting views on the state of the Malaysian economy before and after being in government.

"This minister who only attacks (hentam saja) should be crowned 'best finance minister in the world', because never in history has any country become successful (in wake of being on the brink of bankruptcy) after just four months in power.

"Too bad it turns out he has a heart that is easily hurt (hati tisu)," Asyraf said, with a screenshot of an unidentified individual's Twitter account being blocked by Lim.

Asyraf's remarks were met with roars of laughter from delegates at the Umno Youth annual general assembly, which was held at Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur today.

The 'hentam saja' moniker for Lim was given by former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak, who criticised the former's approach to finance and economics.

Others who were made the butt of Asyraf's jokes were Defence Minister Mohamad Sabu, Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Salahuddin Ayub, Minister in Prime Minister's Department Mujahid Yusof Rawa, and Education Minister Maszlee Malik.

The broadside ranged from Mohamad's remarks about the airforce's Sukhoi jets, Salahuddin's proposal that fishermen grow pineapples to supplement their income, and various past remarks by Maszlee criticising the then-BN government.
