(AFP) Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, who is on a tour of Asia, will meet Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad in Putrajaya tommorow, according to Bernama .

No details of Arafat's previously-unannounced visit were given in the brief diary item, apart from the fact that the two leaders would meet in the administrative capital at 5.00pm.

Arafat, who is on a whistle-stop tour to raise international support for the Palestinians amid rising violence in the Middle East, has visited Malaysia several times in the past.

Mahathir is a firm supporter of the Palestinian cause.

Arafat was in China Friday after brief visits to India and Pakistan.
