N Surendran is very much alive – as affirmed by the lawyer himself. 

Surendran was forced to dispel rumours of his own death today after messages began circulating on social media that the Lawyers for Liberty adviser and former lawmaker had been found dead in his home.

In a statement titled 'Rebuttal of reports that I have been found dead' issued this morning, he stated that he is not only "alive and well," but had been hard at work all morning.

He also expressed bewilderment over how or why such misinformation began circulating in the first place, adding that he felt compelled to issue the statement to prevent any further alarm or concern over his apparent demise.

"There have been widespread reports this morning that I have been found dead in my house.

"I and my friends have received many calls this morning asking the reports are true.

"I am thus put in the highly unusual position of denying my own death.

"I am perfectly well and alive, and have been in my law firm working all morning," he said.
